Dear Parents, Guardians, Staff and Students of Oyster-Adams Primary Campus,

On behalf of the Oyster-Adams faculty, staff, and administration, we welcome you to SY 2023-24! We are proud to present the second edition of our student, family, and faculty handbook for grades PK 4 to 3rd.

Parents and Guardians: The purpose of this handbook is to provide an overview of our academic program, policies, and procedures. We also encourage you to reference the 2023-24 weekly school family communications, classroom weekly newsletters, Remind, school social media (IG: oysteradams_tigers), and the DCPS website for the latest updates, news, and resources.

Students: This handbook explains the expectations for our Oyster-Adams tigers. To be a tiger, we practice the actions that characterize our School Family and our community: Think globally, Lead by example, Live gracefully, and Act with integrity. We all belong to the Oyster-Adams School Family.

We firmly believe that we all must work together to become a more antiracist school and to narrow the linguistic, racial and opportunity gaps in our school community.

Students, parents, and guardians are critical to the achievement and success of each one of our students. Our core commitment is to ensure that every student has access to rigorous learning opportunities in all academic areas in Spanish and English every day. Our dedicated and talented educators will work every day to provide our children with challenging and supportive learning experiences.
